KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Battling a driving October rainstorm, Oregon Tech recorded their fifth clean sheet of the 2025 season, blanking the University of Providence, 2-0, at the OIT Soccer Field.
The Hustlin' Owls (5-2-4, 3-2-1 CCC) ended a 3-match winless streak, scoring goals in both halves and capitalizing on a man-advantage for much of the second half.
Harvey Bolland turned away four shots on goal for the shutout, as Tech finished the afternoon with a 17-7 edge in shots.
Despite a waterlogged pitch, the Owls brought the energy from the outset, as a header off a corner kick by
Moises Lopez Carillo in the fifth minute and a drive from
Elias Castro in the 15th minute were stopped by Argos (3-6-2, 3-3-1) keeper Andrew Schoenen.
The third chance was the charm, as off a 19th minute corner from
Patrick Chan,
Bridger Meyer headed home the chance at the back post for the go-ahead goal.
UP went down a man in the 63rd minute after consecutive yellow cards, but had their best chance of the day 10 minutes later. Former OIT player, Pedro Rodrigues, had space in the box – driving a shot on frame, but Meyer, sitting on the goal line, cleared the chance to preserve the shutout.
Three minutes later, the Owls put the game out of reach, as a Castro cross found
Eric McGuire in the area – touching home an insurance goal.
OIT hits the road next weekend – starting with a Friday date at league-leading Eastern Oregon.
