SALEM, Ore. – Two goals inside the opening seven minutes gave Corban University a lead they did not surrender, as the Warriors topped Oregon Tech, 3-1, in a physical Cascade Conference men's soccer match-up at Warrior Field.
Santiago Castano and Jose Guzman scored the early unassisted goals for the Warriors (3-4-1, 2-0 CCC), who remain unbeaten all-time against Tech on their own pitch.
The Owls (4-4, 1-2) had chances – holding a 12-11 edge in shot attempts, with both teams recording six corner kicks – but Tech's lone goal came 14 minutes in – as
Andrew Pasang found
Wolfgang Alvarado for his team-leading third goal of 2024.
Corban extended the margin to 3-1 in the 66th minute, as Guzman played a through-ball to midfielder Irwin Leon, who knocked home the insurance tally.
The match-up featured 43 fouls and six cautions.
OIT closes out the road swing tomorrow afternoon, traveling to Eugene for a 2:30 p.m. meeting with Bushnell.
