Tech Drops 4-Set Match-Up with Bushnell

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Amyah Semau recorded 23 kills and 14 digs, helping Bushnell knock off Oregon Tech 25-20, 25-22, 23-25, 25-17 at Danny Miles Court.

Courtney Green and Molly Grace each had 10 kills for the Lady Owls (7-5, 0-4 CCC), but the visitors used a 69-51 edge in kills to claim the road win.

The Beacons (8-4, 3-1) opened the match with 6-straight points, including two Hailey Heider kills – controlling the majority of the set. OIT cut the margin to 21-18 on a Grace ace, but outside hitter Ariana Guerra answered with a kill and Bushnell closed out the frame.

The Eugene school followed in Set 2 with a 6-1 run to break a 12-12 tie, with Guerra adding a pair of kills in the surge. Tech battled back within 24-22, but was unable to get closer.

OIT extended the match in Set 3, rallying from a 22-21 deficit behind a Kate Hicks kill and a tandem block from Lex Boccia and Aleksen Thayer, while after a Beacons side out, Grace earned set point with a kill and a Willow Jacobson-Thayer block ending the set.

Bushnell dominated Set 4, with Semau recording consecutive aces in a 6-point run that built a 19-11 lead, with the Beacons cruising to the win.

Jacobson and Boccia each had nine kills in the loss for OIT, with Grace adding a season-high 19 digs. Lucy Boyd led the Owls with 25 assists and Kaley Whalen recorded 27 digs.

Guerra had 15 kills for the Beacons, with Kate Palelek adding 30 assists and 12 digs. Libero Bella Parque had a match-high 29 digs, surpassing the 1,000-dig mark in her career.

Tech closes out a 5-match homestand tomorrow afternoon, hosting Corban at 4 p.m.
