KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. –
Ben Bradshaw flicked home the game-tying goal in the second half, as Oregon Tech and Eastern Oregon played to a 1-1 draw at the OIT Soccer Field.
The Hustlin' Owls (5-5-1, 2-3-1 CCC) head out on the road next week (at Walla Walla, at Rocky Mountain) after picking up four points in the Cascade Conference table during their weekend home dates.
EOU (4-2-2, 3-1-2) controlled play during the opening half – hitting the crossbar on a Tawanda Rice shot in the first minute, while taking a 1-0 lead on a Manuel Rodriguez goal off a long throw-in from Cristian Trujillo.
Tech answered with an inspired first 15 minutes of the second half – with
Lennyn Solis missing a 25-yard laser just left of the frame and
Sylver Schweiger stymied on a header off a corner kick. The persistence paid off in the 51st minute, as
Cash Cota made a nice run down the right side, crossing a ball that was re-directed by
Merrick Tambio to the waiting boot of Bradshaw, who touched home the equalizer.
Both teams had chances in the final 20 minutes – despite the Mounties playing 11-v-10 over the final seven minutes after EOU was assessed a red card. Rene Prieto had Eastern's best chance, an unmarked header off a corner that was stuffed by Tech keeper
Ryan Solis. With the man advantage, Bradshaw unleashed a 25-yard drive that missed just high of the mark.
Eastern finished the day with a 15-14 shot advantage, with both squads recording seven corner kicks.
