CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon Tech defender Carly Moss was honored as Cascade Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office.

The senior, from Reno, Nev., was instrumental in the Lady Owls weekend sweep of Providence and Carroll - limiting the two Montana schools to five total shots. The center back was key in the showdown with Carroll, blanking the league's leading offensive team (in goals scored, shots and corner kicks) and surrendering just four shots and one corner.

Moss added the game-winning goal in Saturday's win, drilling a 17th-minute penalty kick for the lone score of the match.

Tech returns to actoin on Friday, hosting Southern Oregon at 12 p.m.
