KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Caleb Hoxie scored a goal and assisted on another, as Carroll College snapped Oregon Tech's five-match unbeaten streak with a 2-0 victory at the OIT Soccer Field.
The Fighting Saints (9-2-3, 8-1-1 CCC) remained tied atop the league standings after the win, while the Hustlin' Owls saw a 27-match string of games scoring a goal at home ended.
The Montana squad opened the scoring in the 27th minute, as on a counterattack, Hoxie made a long run down the right side, playing a cross to the near post, where a charging Luke Rosenberger flicked home the sitter.
Hoxie added to the margin early in the second half, taking advantage of a 1-on-1 opportunity outside the area, eluding the keeper and lining home a low liner into the net.
The Owls (7-6-2, 4-4-2) had chances, holding a 12-9 edge in shots - but Tech had just one shot on frame.
OIT closes out the home schedule next Friday, hosting rival Southern Oregon at 2:30 p.m.
