KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. –
Jaylee Curran hit a rocket of a free kick into the top shelf to open the scoring, as Oregon Tech snapped a 3-match losing streak in dominating fashion, rolling past the University of Providence, 4-0, at the OIT Soccer Field.
Tech (9-4-1, 5-3) guaranteed themselves a winning season by holding a 20-1 edge in total shots – with four different players finding the net in the victory.
The Owls were awarded a free kick thanks to a handball just outside the box in the 17th minute, with Curran stepping up and drilling a liner just inside the crossbar for the eventual game-winner.
Two goals early in the second half put the game away – as
Raeah Raymondo slotted home a cross from the left side from
Shalynai Naputi, with Naputi getting into the scoring action after earning a penalty kick after a foul on a breakaway attempt. OIT closed the scoring in the 88th minute, as
Solei Elletson knocked home a counter off a
Kayla Ness feed.
Sydni Nakamura did not have to make a save in the clean sheet win, with Argos keeper Chloe Pajaro making 10 saves to keep UP in the match.
OIT continues their homestand tomorrow with a 12 p.m. match vs. Carroll College.
