Solis Makes Eight Saves, Tech Rolls Past Providence, 4-0

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Ryan Solis made a season-high eight saves, with the Oregon Tech offense turning four of their seven shots on frame into goals, as the Hustlin' Owls extended an unbeaten streak to five with a 4-0 shutout of the University of Providence.

OIT (7-5-2, 4-3-2 CCC) earned three key points in the league table heading into tomorrow's showdown with league-leading Carroll College.

Tech opened the scoring in the 14th minute, as Sylver Schweiger played a ball from deep in the right corner over the top of the goal – finding Patrick Chan at the back post – flicking home a right-footed shot into the corner of the net.

The lead doubled in the 54th minute, as Andrew Pasang made a move down the right side of the box, playing a touch to Merrick Tambio, who returned the pass to Pasang for a 15-yard rocket into the right corner of the net.

Solis took over, making five key stops over the next 25 minutes – including a point-blank save on a Tomeu Nebot-Schmalfe chance.

The Owls put the game away in the 80th minute off a set piece, as Ben Bradshaw played a corner to the back post, with Schweiger heading home the counter. OIT added another in the last second, as Logan Miller took a 40-yard shot on the right side just before the final horn, driving the shot over the head of Argos (1-11, 0-9) Thomas Sine.

The win was the fifth-straight against UP – all via shutout.
