BILLINGS, Mont. –
Lennyn Solis drove home a 20-yard bender inside the right post inside the final six minutes of play, helping Oregon Tech earn a key point at Rocky Mountain, as the Hustlin' Owls and Battlin' Bears played to a 1-1 draw at Wendy's Field.
OIT (6-5-2, 3-3-2 CCC) extended their unbeaten streak to four heading into a crucial 3-match homestand, beginning Friday afternoon against the University of Providence.
A match that featured just five shots on frame, each team was able to convert in a key situation.
Rocky (4-5-1, 3-3-1) struck in the 33rd minute, as Igor Soares headed home a cross from Raul Villar – one of only two shots on frame in the match by the Battlin' Bears.
The hosts clamped down defensively until late in the match, as in the 85th minute, Solis pounced on a loose ball in the defensive midfield, made a quick run down the middle of the pitch, driving a liner inside the far post – eluding keeper Stefan Schenk – for the tying goal.
Both teams had chances in the final two minutes – as Tech cleared a RMC corner and the Bears surviving two Owl corners in the waning seconds.
Rocky finished with an 11-9 edge in shots and a 5-3 lead in corners. OIT extended their unbeaten streak against the Montana side to four games.
