KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University used a pair of big rallies in the final two sets to complete a 3-set sweep of an inspired Oregon Tech squad, winning 25-17, 25-17, 25-19 inside Brodin Pavilion.
A night after rallying from a 2-set deficit at Evergreen State, the Lady Owls (7-11, 5-6 CCC) got a career-high tying nine kills from
Kate Hicks and seven kills from
Willow Jacobson – but NU proved to be too much.
After winning Set 1, the Eagles (11-5, 8-3) trailed 6-1 to start Set 2, but used a 15-4 run to take command of the period. In Set 3, two kills from Jacobson staked OIT to a 9-2 lead and the Owls were even with NU at 18-18 – but three hitting errors fueled a 6-0 run by the hosts as the claimed the victory.
Kaitlyn Mickle led the Washington squad with a match-high 15 kills and Kalli Budge added six kills and five blocks.

Kaley Whalen had 13 digs – her 11th-straight double-digit digs match.
Tech returns home next weekend to open the second half of conference play, welcoming College of Idaho and No. 4-ranked Eastern Oregon.
