CALDWELL, Idaho –
Sydni Nakamura made a season-high eight saves to keep Oregon Tech in the match, but two late goals from No. 17-ranked College of Idaho provided insurance in a 3-0 victory over the Lady Owls at Simplot Stadium.
The Coyotes (9-1-1, 5-0 CCC) used a first half goal from Natasja Davis to grab a 1-0 lead, but Nakamura made seven saves over the next 55 minutes to keep the visitors within a goal.
The Lady Owls (2-4-3, 1-3-2) had two chances to tie the score near the end of the first half, but shots from
Kiana Jacobson and
Shalynai Naputi were wide of the target.
C of I clamped down defensively, not allowing a Tech shot attempt in the second half – breaking through with goals from Chloe Teets and Gianna Yslava inside the final five minutes of play to cap the scoring.
The hosts finished with a 22-3 edge in total shots and a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.
OIT returns home next Friday, hosting Rocky Mountain at 2:30 p.m.
