LA GRANDE, Ore. – Defense won the day at Community Stadium, as the Oregon Tech and Eastern Oregon men's soccer teams weathered a constant drizzle and chilly temperatures, playing to a 0-0 Cascade Conference draw.
The Hustlin' Owls (5-2-2, 3-1-1 CCC) extended their road unbeaten streak to four matches, with keeper
Ryan Solis recording his league-leading sixth shutout of the year.
OIT peppered the net in the early going – putting three shots on frame in the first 15 minutes, as
DeShone Myles and
Cooper Hunt had headers that were turned away by Mountaineers (2-4-3, 2-2-1) keeper Kevin Pullara. The Owls had their best chance on a 25-yard free kick from
Andrew Pasang, but Pullara made a diving save on a left-footed shot to the near post.
Solis made two stops in the first half – chances from Abner Hernandez and Carlos Rodriguez – but the junior stuffed both chances.
Neither team had a shot on frame in the final 45 minutes, with EOU putting pressure on the OIT defense, taking seven second half shots.
The Owls close out the road trip tomorrow night, traveling to College of Idaho for a 5:30 p.m. (MDT) start.
