KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. –
Sydni Nakamura made four key saves, recording her fourth clean sheet of the season, as Oregon Tech and Corban played to a 0-0 draw at the OIT Soccer Field.
The Lady Owls (2-3-2, 1-2-1 CCC) held a 5-3 edge in shots after the intermission, controlling the run of play during the final 45 minutes, but were unable to find the net – earning their second draw of 2023.
"Credit to Corban as I thought they pushed us competitively," said OIT head coach
Tom Moore. "The game was a physical, good-spirited grind throughout and I think Syd kept us in the game and our offense started to see signs of the creatively that hopefully will grow."
The Warriors (3-2-4, 1-0-2) had a pair of quality chances in the first half, as a 25-yard strike from Alysia Alvarado was punched away by Nakamura, while just before the break, Nakamura turned away Alvarado with a nifty save.
OIT had opportunities late in the contest – as a
Kaylie Hashizaki 25-yard shot missed just high,
Kiana Jacobson lined a shot that missed just left of the target, with a late chance from
Alexandra Trinidad was sent above the crossbar.
Corban held a slim 11-10 edge in shots and a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Lady Owls return to action next weekend with road dates at Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho.
