Owls Run Win Streak to Four, Blank Bushnell, 3-0

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Goals from Rosendo Juarez-Flores, Brock Rideout and Andrew Pasang led Oregon Tech to a 3-0 victory over Bushnell University at the OIT Soccer Field.

The Hustlin' Owls (5-1-1, 3-0 CCC) kept pace atop the league table with the victory, while handing the visitors their first loss of 2023.

Facing an aggressive defense from the Beacons (4-1-2, 0-1-1), Tech opened the scoring on an 18th-minute set-piece. Ryan Pearson lofted a long throw-in to the near post, with Juarez-Flores touching a shot just inside the post for the 1-0 lead.

Tech doubled the lead in the 37th minute, as Pearson played an angled cross from the left side of the field to the back post, where a diving header from Rideout found the net – setting a new school record with his 22nd career goal.

Rideout played a factor in a second half insurance goal, playing a ball behind the BU defense, with Pasang converting a 1-on-1 chance with a laser into the upper right corner of the net.

OIT's defense did the rest, as Ryan Solis faced 10 shots and made three saves to record his third-straight shutout, including a point-blank save on a Jay Jay Van Der Veld shot from inside the 6-yard box.

The Owls finished with a 17-10 edge in shots and an 8-5 edge in corner kicks.

Beacons keeper Andre Ferreira made six saves in the loss – including a pair of diving stops in the second half that kept the score at 3-0.

OIT returns to action tomorrow, putting a 4-match win streak on the line against rival Corban.
