KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The home of Oregon Tech Athletics, OregonTechOwls.com launched a completely new redesign today – the first new-look for the award-winning website since its debut in June of 2017.
OIT sports information director, Mike Safford Jr., worked alongside developers from SIDEARM Sports, to create OregonTechOwls.com, Version 2.0. The new site features the navy and gold colors of the program, more multimedia opportunities for fans and supporters, plus expanded content to showcase coaches and student-athletes.
The current athletic calendar now is available at the top of the webpage; a multimedia wall is visible on every home page, including video, social media posts and photos – highlighting the 13 Oregon Tech athletic programs; an updated portal for the Owls Sports Network to watch athletic events; with an Honor Roll of accolades – including records and history - for every team available on their sport-specific site. Other upgrades include easier access for fans to purchase tickets to home events, a portal for the Howard Morris OIT Athletic Hall of Fame, along with a complete statistical historical database for all athletic programs.
Fans who use both the mobile and tablet versions of OregonTechOwls.com will immediately notice a major difference. The new site features a responsive mobile web design—an approach to web page creation that makes use of flexible layouts and flexible images that detect the visitor's screen size and orientation and change the layout accordingly.
"With nearly two million page views over the past year, OregonTechOwls.com is the place OIT fans go to find information about their favorite team," Safford said. "Thanks to the great staff at SIDEARM Sports, the new-look website will make finding information on the Owls easier, while allowing new content – whether it be videos, photo galleries or stories – to be shared in a simple, user-friendly platform."
This past year, OregonTechOwls.com was named the No. 3 athletic website in the NAIA in the annual NAIA-Sports Information Directors Association Publications, Digital and New Media Contest.
