Looking to build momentum off of a strong senior day performance last week, Tech completed an incredible comeback to storm back and steal one on the road from the Walla Walla Wolves.
All afternoon, Walla Walla was shooting lights out from the floor, making life very difficult for Tech.
At the break, the Wolves held a 39-24 lead, led by a 78% shooting split from beyond the arc.
In the second half, Walla Walla continued to stay hot and found themselves up 15 with just under eight minutes to play.
However, unfortunately for Walla Walla, their good fortune would turn when Andrew Vaughn and the game's leading scorer, Zayne Browning, fouled out.
From there, it was rough sailing for the hosts, and Tech began to mount a comeback.
The Hustlin' Owls outscored Walla Walla 23-10 in the final five minutes, capped off by Scotty Burge's game-winning three.
Tech had four players in double figures on Friday afternoon:
Kellen Gerig: 17 points on 5-of-12 shooting with four rebounds
Harrison Steiger: 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting
Scotty Burge: 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting with four rebounds
Kaison Faust: 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting with five rebounds
Walla Walla was led by Zayne Browning, who scored 29 points on 11-of-14 shooting with six rebounds.
The Wolves also got a monster game out of KiAndre Gaddy, who had 24 points and 13 rebounds.
The Hustlin' Owls will return to action tomorrow when they head to Lewiston to take on Lewis-Clark State (19-9, 12-8) at 5PM.
