No. 1 Lady Owls Earn Saturday Sweep in Redding

REDDING, CA – The #1 ranked Lady Owls (5-3) earned their first doubleheader sweep of the 2022 season, defeating (RV) Vanguard (9-3) and (RV) Simpson (4-6) on Saturday. The victory for Tech was a true demonstration of their offensive potential, plating 24 runs in 11 innings.

Game One: #1 Oregon Tech 12 (RV) Vanguard University 3 (6-innings)

Looking to avenge their Friday extra-inning defeat to Vanguard, Tech caught fire towards the latter end of the contest to deny Vanguard their 10th victory.

Tech scored two runs apiece in the 4th and 5th before exploding in the 6th for six runs to bury the Lions' hopes of sweeping the top-ranked Owls.

Mckenzie Staub had a career performance on Saturday, dealing five complete innings while adding a grand slam in the 6th to seal the deal.

At the plate, Staub went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored.

In the circle, she allowed just one run on four hits while striking out four.

On the back of her performance, Tech grabbed 13 hits and played clean defense in the field, recording no errors.
