KLAMATH FALLS, OR. — The Oregon Tech Hustlin' Owls (17-6, 14-1) used a strong start and a career night from Kellen Gerig to surge past Northwest University (9-11, 6-9) on Saturday evening 94-75. The senior scored a career-high 35 points on 16-of-20 shooting.
Following the victory, head coach Justin Parnell said: "Really nice job by our guys this weekend. Northwest is tough, and they are going to be a tough out down the stretch. Kellen was outstanding tonight. He's healthy and it shows. Kaison was relentless on the boards this weekend."

With the opportunity to earn a regular-season sweep over the Eagles, Kellen Gerig put the team on his back en route to their 14th win in CCC play.
Tech stormed out in front from the opening whistle, jumping out to a 19-3 lead.
Of the first 19 points scored, Gerig accounted for 13 of them, as the senior couldn't be contained inside.
However, slowly but surely, Northwest would chip away, eventually whittling Tech's lead to 31-30.
OIT would ramp up their energy on both sides of the ball across the final 5:21 and take a 48-37 lead into the locker room.
At the break, Gerig had 21 points on 10-of-11 shooting.
Northwest continued to hang around in the second half, cutting the Hustlin' Owls lead to 62-57 with 11:44 to play.
Once again, though, Tech was equal to the pressure that Northwest attempted to apply.
The Hustlin' Owls continued to feed Gerig, who scored 14 second-half points in what was an absolute clinic from the senior on Saturday,
Down the stretch, OIT outscored the Eagles 32-17 to grab their 14th victory in CCC play.
The late run from Tech was punctuated by a lob from Gerig to Potts, who slammed it home with 1:22 remaining,
The Hustlin' Owls had four players in double figures on Saturday:
Kellen Gerig: 35 points (game and career-high) on 16-of-20 shooting with six rebounds
Joey Potts: 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting with seven rebounds
Kaison Faust: 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting with ten rebounds (double-double)
Scotty Burge: 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting with four assists
Northwest University was led by Tanner Davis, who had 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting.
The Hustlin' Owls will travel to face Bushnell University (8-15, 6-10) on Friday at 7:30 before taking on Corban (14-10, 9-7) at 5:30 on Saturday.
