CALDWELL, ID. — The Oregon Tech Lady Owls (15-5, 8-5) used a huge 4th quarter to come from behind and defeat The College of Idaho (13-8, 7-6) on Saturday afternoon. Tech outscored the Lady 'Yotes 24-15 across the final period before Abby Kreiser nailed a game-winning jumper with 0.9 seconds left.
Following the victory, HC Scott Meredith said: " We started the game with a great defensive effort, only allowing 5 points. Then C of I showed up and scored 27 in the 2nd. We were pretty flat in the locker room at halftime and the 3rd quarter didn't begin well. So we changed things up defensively and our team really responded. A lot of our players stepped up and we are happy for Abby to hit the game-winner in her home area. "

Looking to bounce back off of a loss in La Grande last night, Tech rallied to defeat the 'Yotes on their home court in Caldwell.
The Lady Owls jumped out to an early first-quarter lead, which has become a common theme this season.
Despite missing
Melissa Lee, Tech jumped out to a 12-5 lead after 1. OIT came out with stout defense, forcing difficult shots that ultimately held the 'Yotes to just 22% shooting.
In the second quarter, however, the 'Yotes offense exploded. The College of Idaho scored 27 points on 65% shooting to take a 32-29 lead over Tech at the break.
At the break, Tech was led by
Maddyson Tull, who had eight points, all of which came from the sophomore post exposing a size mismatch down low.
In the third period, the 'Yotes came out strong again, grabbing a lead as large as 10, with 3:24 remaining in the quarter.
At the end of three, Tech trailed by seven, needing a huge quarter to grab the victory.
And a huge quarter they got.
Tech outscored the hosts 24-15 across the final period, highlighted by an all-around team performance.
The Owls switched to a zone defense scheme that flustered the 'Yotes as Tech was able to make the necessary stops.
With 15 seconds remaining, Tech tightened up their defense, forcing a final 'Yotes miss, resulting in the Owls gaining possession with 4.9 seconds left.
After Meredith went to the drawing board, it was senior Abby Kreiser who got the final shot and came through in her home state of Idaho.
Tech finished with five players in double figures:
Maddyson Tull: 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting with nine rebounds
Abby Kreiser: 12 points on 6-of-15 shooting with ten assists (double-double)
Courtney Clemmer: 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting with six rebounds
Olivia Sprague: 10 points on 3-of-12 shooting
Kennedy Tull: 10 points on 4-of 6 shooting
The College of Idaho was led by D'Nia Williams, who scored a game-high 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
Tech will return to action next week when they host The Evergreen State College (6-10, 4-8) on Friday for Hawaiian night.
