Getting used to playing (and winning) short-handed, Tech led from the opening whistle and earned a season sweep of the Evergreen State Geoducks.
Down two starters and a rotational player due to a non-COVID-related absence, Tech's patented strong first-quarter start couldn't be denied.
For the 12th consecutive game, Tech led after one, jumping out to an early 18-12 lead.
In the opening 10 minutes, Tech used two deep threes from freshman
Olivia Sprague to pace their offense that shot 40% to start the game.
In the second quarter, Evergreen State would heat up, shooting nearly 60% from the floor as Sha'nece Garret continued to find a way to get to the bucket.
The Geoducks outscored Tech 22-17 in the 2nd quarter to cut the Owls lead to one at the break.
At the half, Tech was led by
Maddyson Tull, who had 10 points on 3-of-4 shooting.
Tech came out strong in the second half, playing well enough to keep the Geoducks at arm's length.
The Lady Owls utilized a mismatch inside and fed
Maddyson Tull as the sophomore, and her teammates began to dominate on the boards.
Tech shot 56% in the 3rd while limiting the Geoducks to just 30% and minimal rebounds.
In the 4th period, Tech built their lead out to double digits and converted on their free throw down the stretch to seal the game.
Tech finished the game with three players in double figures, and a rebound advantage of 47-31.
Maddyson Tull: 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting, 8-of-8 from the FT line, and nine rebounds
Shelby Blodgett: 16 points on 8-of-14 shooting with 14 rebounds (double-double)
Olivia Sprague: 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting
Tech also got a strong game back from Melissa Lee, who had seven points, 10 rebounds, and five steals.

Tech will return to action tomorrow when they host Northwest University (12-9, 6-8) at 3pm with a chance to earn a regular-season sweep over the Eagles.
