Hustlin’ Owls Drop First Game of Season at SOU

ASHLAND, Ore.—Southern Oregon (7-0, 3-0 CCC) scored the game's only goal in the final four minutes of play to hand Oregon Tech (6-1, 2-1 CCC) its first loss of the season 1-0 Friday afternoon at Raider Stadium.

The Raiders, Adrian Villegas centered the ball from the left corner to Noah Addie in a clearing, and after Addie's shot was stopped by Owls keeper Joel Witts, it bounced right to Gaytan in front of a clear net for his sixth goal in SOU's last six games.

The game was a very even matchup as each team held possession equally. Southern Oregon was credited with 12 shots in the game, eight on frame while the Owls had 11 shots,  with seven being on frame.

For Southern Oregon Liam Kalhagen earned the shutout with six saves.

The Owls will be off until next Friday and Saturday when they head to Montana for games at the University of Providence (0-4, 0-1 CCC) in Great Falls and at Rocky Mountain College (4-1-1, 1-0 CCC) in Billings on October 1 and 2 respectively.
