No. 21 Owls Shutout Eagles 1-0 in CCC Opener

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.— Maddie Miller sent home the game winner just five minutes into the game as No. 21 Oregon Tech (4-1, 1-0 CCC) won its conference opener 1-0 over Northwest University (1-5-1, 0-1 CCC) Friday afternoon at the OIT Soccer Field.

"Really good start to conference play against a very good Northwest team that will be at the top of our conference, "said head coach Casey Tate. "We dug deep and grinded it out. Proud of the whole group and we need to be ready for Evergreen tomorrow as every game is difficult in our conference."

Millers' goal came just 5:39 into the contest as she took a Nyah Kendall cross inside the box and scored her second goal of the season.

Each team struggled to maintain much offense as the defense ruled the day.

Tech did manage a slight 7-3 edge in shots with shots on frame much closer at 3-1.

The Tech defense did not allow an Eagle corner kick for the entire game and that really limited the Northwest scoring opportunities.

The Lady Owls will host Evergreen State Saturday at 2:30 PM on the OIT Soccer Field.
