PORTLAND, Ore.— Oregon Tech (4-4) cruised to victory once again, beating Multnomah (0-17), 74-50. The Lady Owls swept the weekend road series over the Lions, and were led today by a 22-point performance from
Kristin Farrell (#5 pictured).
"Another balanced team effort," said head coach
Scott Meredith. "In general, our defense has improved and we continue to rebound well. I thought our running game, especially with Beth, was outstanding and really kept Multnomah on their heels. Nice to see Kristin have a big offensive day as she works so hard. Abby was great all weekend and Melissa's play off the bench gave us a spark both games. A good way to head into our last weekend of play."
In the 1st quarter, Tech jumped on Multnomah early, turning up their defense which forced the Lions to under 30% shooting from the floor.
On the other end, Tech shot 54% from the floor which allowed them build a 25-10 lead after 1 quarter.
In the 2nd quarter, like yesterday, the Lions found a way to respond.
While Multnomah only shot 18% from the field, they managed to outscore Tech 13-10 in the frame.
At the half, Tech led 35-23.
In the 3rd quarter, Tech would ramp up their defense once again, outscoring the hosts 23-12, while shooting 50% from the floor.
Leading 58-35 after 3, Tech would cruise to victory and pull their record back to .500.
The Lady Owls were led by Farrell's strong performance and 15 points from
Beth Derner.
Tech will return to play next weekend when they host Warner-Pacific for 2 games in their season finale.
