Lady Owls Beat Warner Pacific for 3rd Straight Win

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.— Oregon Tech (5-4) won their 3rd straight game, knocking off Warner Pacific (7-9) by a score of 74-66 on Friday night. Tech led the game from start to finish, and were led by multiple strong performances and solid free throw shooting. With the victory, Tech moves above .500 for the first time since March 26th.

"It was a typical Oregon Tech/Warner Pacific game, physical and close," said head coach Scott Meredith about today's game. "As our defense improves, our confidence improves. We really did a good job executing our defensive game plan and had balance scoring at the offensive end. We need to take care of the ball a bit better tomorrow while continuing to attack the basket. Our girls played hard and that's our main goal. Look for more tomorrow."

Tech drew first blood less than a minute in, grabbing a 2-0 lead that they'd never lose.

After 1 period, Tech shot 50% from the field and hung on to a mere 22-19 lead.

Throughout the entire affair, the Knights kept it close with the Hustlin' Owls but were never able to get over the hump when provided the opportunity.

In the 2nd quarter, both teams scored 16 points apiece, as neither side could get the shots to fall down the stretch.

Leading only 38-35 at the half, Tech and Warner played a nearly identical period to the 2nd, in the 3rd. Once again, neither side made many shots as each side scored 16 points once again.

The 4th quarter is where Tech would open the game and get some breathing room, amassing their first double-digit advantage of the game.

Tech would outscore Warner 20-15 in the 4th, shooting 1 off a perfect score from the foul line in crunch time.

In the victory, Tech was led by the following:

Maddyson Tull: 15 points, 6 rebounds, 60% shooting from the floor

Kristin Farrell: 12 points

Melissa Lee: 12 points, 4 rebounds, on 71% shooting from the floor

Abby Kreiser: 11 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists

Beth Derner (pictured) 10 points

However, even with all these solid performances the best player on the court was Bruno for Warner who scored 33 points.

Tech will return to play tomorrow to host Warner Pacific in the season finale that will also be senior day as the Owls honor their lone senior Beth Derner.
