PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon Tech (3-4) rode the back of
Abby Kreiser who recorded a triple-double in their 67-38 victory over Multnomah (0-16). Kreiser recorded 12 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds while nearly shooting 50% from the field.
"It was a great team effort today," said head coach
Scott Meredith. "We played together and with enthusiasm. Very pleased how our defense has improved over the past 2 weeks. Happy for Abby as she had only the 2nd Triple-Double in our programs history. The challenge now is to return tomorrow with the same focus and determination."
In the 1st quarter, after the Lions led 4-0, Tech went on a 17-0 run and turning up their defense which forced the Lions to under 12% shooting from the floor while Tech shot 44% which allowed them build a 17-4 lead after the first stanza.
In the 2nd quarter, each side went toe-to-toe as Multnomah and Tech each accounted for 16 points in the 2nd frame.
The Lady Owls, still played solid defense as each side shot around 40%.
At the half, Tech led 33-20.
In the 3rd quarter, Tech would ramp up their defense once again, outscoring the hosts 19-6 in the frame.
Tech had their best shooting split at 50% overall for the 3rd quarter.
Leading 52-26 after 3, Tech would cruise to victory and pull 1 game within a .500 record.
The Lady Owls were led by Kreiser's triple-double, the second ever in school history and 10 points each from
Beth Derner and
Melissa Lee.
