KLAMATH FALLS, Ore – (RV) Bushnell University (-5, 5-5 CCC) earned a 3-0 sweep Saturday over Oregon Tech (8-5, 5-5) at Danny Miles Court as the Beacons got revenge after falling to the host Owls 3-0 on Friday.
"Unfortunately we struggled putting pressure on Bushnell from behind the service line today and it was tough to defend their offense," said head coach
Ken Murczek. "We had some chances in the second set to extend the match, but we did not execute. Congrats to Bushnell on a well-played match today. We will look forward to getting in the gym this week to start improving and preparing for our last conference road trip to Warner Pacific University next weekend."
Set one was dominated by the Beacons as they came out on fire with a kill percentage of .385, knocking back the Owls 25-14.
Set two was a lot more competitive with the home Owls having their best kill percentage of the game at .170. But Tech couldn't defend the onslaught of Beacon kills as they averaged .282 on the set winning 25-23.
Set three was much the same as Bushnell out hit Tech .308 to.000 on the way to a 25-18 win.
Tech was led by
Kaylin Talonen with 13 kills while
Faith Houck-Wylie and
Nicole Reyes added 9 each in the loss.
Tech will look to bounce back next Friday and Saturday playing at Warner Pacific (2-8, 2-8 CCC) in the Rose City. The Knights are coming off a weekend sweep of Multnomah.
