Lady Owls Fall to #12 Eastern Oregon in CCC Semifinals

Salem, OR -- #3 and (25) Oregon Tech (23-6) battled hard but ultimately fell in heartbreaking fashion to #2 (12) Eastern Oregon (25-6) on Friday afternoon.

Set 1 -- No. 2 (12) Eastern Oregon25 No. 3 (25) Tech 19

Set 2 -- No. 3 (25) Tech 25 No. 2 (12) Eastern Oregon 23

Set 3 -- No. 3 (25) Tech 27 No. 2 (12) Eastern Oregon 25

Set 4 -- No. 2 (12) Eastern Oregon 25 No. 3 (25) Tech 22

Set 5 — No. 2 (12) Eastern Oregon 15 No. 3 (25) Tech 8

After falling in the first set, Tech would storm back to win the next two sets, looking in control over the 12th best team in the country.

However, Tech lost a very competitive 4th set before running out of magic in the 5th. 

There were still many positives that came in the match including these statistical categories: 

Kills: 67 to 66
Blocks: 7 to 6
Assists: 61 ro 54
Digs: 74 to 61

The Lady Owls were led in kills by Faith Houck-Wylie (20), Nicole Reyes (17) and Kaylin Talonen (16).

Courtney Isom and Brooke Cassidy passed the ball well as Isom recorded 31 assists and Cassidy got 28.

The #25 Owls will now look to the selection show in hopes of receiving an at-large bid to compete in the upcoming NAIA National Tournament 

Following the match HC Ken Murczek said: 

"Extremely proud of our season! We gave ourselves a chance tonight to beat the #12 team in the country. Time to cross our fingers and hope that our body of work this season is good enough to get us in the national tournament for the first time in program history."
