Tech Picks Up 2nd Blowout Victory, Wins Holtz Warrior Classic

ROCKLIN, Calif. - Oregon Tech (2-0) picked up their second blowout victory in as many days, routing the California Maritime Academy (0-2) 77-32 on Saturday evening. Tech jumped out to a big first quarter lead and never looked back en route to a successful weekend in Rocklin.

"While we are certainly happy with a 45-point win, I am concerned about the number of turn overs," said head coach Scott Meredith. Once again, our defense was awesome, and we held Cal Maritime to single digit scoring in three quarters. I was particularly impressed with the quality of play from our bench, who maintained a high level of play throughout. We now have time to watch film and assess where we're at heading into next Friday's game against Simpson."

Oregon Tech got off to a hot start, outscoring CMA 23-9 in the first period. Kristin Farrell got hot from three in the opening period which helped Tech put it into cruise control.

The second period was much of the same as Tech outscored CMA 19-10, to go into the locker room with a 42-19 lead.

At the break, Tech was shooting an impressive 50% from the floor, and flying around the ball on defense making life difficult for their opponent.

In the second half Tech would continue to cruise, outscoring CMA 19-4 in the 3rd and 16-9 in the 4th.

Tech was led in points by Kristin Farrelll who had 15 on 6-11 shooting.

Shelby Blodgett added 13 for Tech after she got to the line 11 times and shot a perfect 11-11 from the stripe.

Olivia Sprague also had a nice game, leading the team in rebounds with 9, assists with 7, and scored 6 points.

Tech will return to California next week when they travel to Redding to take on Simpson University.
