Oregon Tech Finishes Season Sweep of Eagles

KIRKLAND, Wash. – Oregon Tech (16-4, 12-3 CCC) finished a season sweep of Northwest University (9-11, 8-7 CCC) Friday night 3-0, (25-19, 25-15, 25-16) winning their seventh conference match in a row at Kristi Brodin Pavilion.

"The team did a tremendous job from behind the service line tonight and created a lot of problems for their offense to get going," said head coach Ken Murczek. "Exciting to us stay consistent on both sides of the ball for the entire match. We Will need to regroup and get ready for a good evergreen team tomorrow."

The Owls got things rolling in the first set taking leads of 6-3, 10-6, and 16-11 before closing out the set with a Nicole Reyes kill for the 25-19 win. The Owls finished the first swinging at a .345 pace while holding the Eagles to .125.

Both teams struggled in set 2 with Tech hitting at a .138 percentage but held Northwest to a negative.091 as the Owls won the set 25-15.

Oregon Tech got off to a great start in the 3rd set taking a commanding 8-0 lead on the way to a 25-16 win.

Reyes (11), Kaylin Talonen (7), and Faith Houck-Wylie (6) led the Owls in kills on the night.

Tech once again dominated the net and the serve with an 8-2 edge in blocks, and an 11-2 advantage in aces.

Courtney Isom held down the middle with 24 assists while Aubrey Kievit (8), Reyes (8), and Lindsey Sampson (7) kept the back row in check combining for 23 digs.

Tech will next travel to Olympia to close out the Washington road trip for a battle at Evergreen State on Saturday at 6:00 PM. The Owls won a five-set thriller against the Geoducks earlier this year in Klamath Falls on September 10.
