Lady Owls Devour Geoducks for 8th Straight Win

OLYMPIA, WASH. – The Oregon Tech volleyball team won its 8th match in a row with a straight set sweep of the Evergreen State Saturday 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-23). The Owls improve to 13-3 in conference play and 17-4 overall. The Geoducks slip to 8-9 overall and 8-8 in CCC play.

"It was a tough road trip, but the team did a terrific job of handling some adversity and persevering both nights," said head coach Ken Murczek. "Tonight, our block gave Evergreen some problems and our middles did a great job offensively. It is time to get on the bus and start preparing for two ranked teams that we get the opportunity to play in our gym next weekend."

The Owls had a 42-27 advantage in the match in kills out-hitting ESC .245 to .049.

Nicole Reyes (11), Kaylin Talonen (10), Ashley Ripplinger (8), and Faith Houck-Wylie (8) led the Owls in kills. Reyes added 11 digs for the double-double, while Aubrey Kievit led the Owls with a game high 17 digs.

Courtney Isom once again had a game high 34 assists holding down the middle for the Owls.

Tech will head home for its toughest games of the season next weekend, hosting No.7 Corban University on Friday night at 7:00 PM and Bushnell University on Saturday night at 6:00 PM, Bushnell is receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll.
