PORTLAND, Ore.—Oregon Tech improved to 7-3 in Cascade Conference play with a sweep 3-0, (25-14, 25-16, 25-16) of Multnomah University Friday night at Lytle Gym. Tech moves to 11-4 on the season with the win.
"Great emotional energy and execution this evening," said head coach
Ken Murczek. "We hit over .300 as a team and did a nice job defensively. We will need to reset and get ready for Warner Pacific tomorrow night at 5pm."
Set 1 -Tech started hot with a .333 hit percentage while holding the Lions to -.034, The Owls took early leads of 5-1, 11-2, and 13-6, on the way to the 25-14 win.
Set 2- Tech turned up the heat with a .500 hit percentage on the way to a 13-7 lead. The Lions answered with 5 straight points to close the gap to 13-12 before the Owls took 6 of the next 7 points and never looked back winning 25-16.
Set 3 – Once again, the Owls took the early lead of 5-1, 10-2, 15-6, and 19-9 on the way to the 25-16 win.
Nicole Reyes had 12 kills and 7 digs to lead the Owls with
Faith Houck-Wylie notching 10 kills, and 2 blocks.
Aubrey Kievit had a game high 22 digs with
Courtney Isom holding down the middle with 21 assists.
Tech will head across the Rose City to play Warner Pacific College Friday at 5:00 PM before returning to Southern Oregon for a match in Ashland at Southern Oregon University on Wednesday at 7:00 PM
