VANCOUVER, B.C. – University of British Columbia (10-6, 5-2 NAIA-W) completed their weekend sweep of Oregon Tech (4-16, 0-4 NAIA-W) with two wins on Sunday afternoon, including a 11-4 victory in the NAIA-West opener and a 6-1 win in the nightcap.

British Columbia took the first game in the bottom of the first inning, scoring five runs all with two-outs. The team then expanded the lead in the second to 7-0 with two additional runs.
The Hustlin' Owls scored two unearned runs and
Micah Jio batted in two more runs in the fourth, but the Thunderbirds scored additional runs in the third, fourth, sixth, and seventh while holding Tech scoreless through the remainder of the game.
Jio batted in four runs for the Owls.
Michael Tarakhchyan,
Alex Malcolm, and
Nevan Watanabe each registered a hit, with Tarakhchyan scoring two runs and Malcolm and Watanabe each scoring once.
University of British Columbia pitcher Adam Maier claimed the win (2-0) and struck out eight in the game.

The Thunderbird's defense was strong in the second game as they held the Hustlin' Owls to only a single run. UBC again took a lead in the first, scoring three runs and then expanded the advantage over the remainder of the game.
Emmett Covello led the hooter with two hits in the game and batted in the team's sole run.
The Hustlin' Owls will travel to Lewsiton, Idaho next weekend to take on Lewis-Clark State College on Saturday and Sunday, with games at 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm Saturday and 11:00 am and 2:00 pm on Sunday.
