SALEM, Ore. – Despite being outscored 26-14 in the fourth quarter, the Lady Owls held on to down Corban 61-59 Friday night at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center. Oregon Tech (14-10, 8-6 CCC) was led by
Kristin Farrell who had 15-points including the game-winner, falling away at the baseline, as she lofted up an acrobatic shot at the buzzer, delivering a thrilling 61-59 victory for Oregon Tech over the Corban University women's basketball team.
"That was an exciting college basketball game," said OIT head coach
Scott Meredith. "Despite the turnovers, we played well and our defense really stepped it up tonight. I didn't like giving up the 14 or 15 point lead we had down the stretch, but we did just enough to pull it out. Abby & Kristin had big 3's and Kristin's floater to win it was simply incredible. It was a locker room full of happy Owls!"
Maddyson Tull had 12 points off the bench with
Amanda Constant adding 11-points and a team high seven rebounds for in the win.
Corban (14-9, 10-5 CCC) was led by senior Jordan Woodvine with a game high 16 points with Shaelie Burgess adding a double-double 12-points 11-rebounds.
Corban held a 49-34 rebound edge by Kendra Murphy who had 15.
Tech had 21 turnovers but forced 23 by the Warriors in the game.
The Owls will next travel to Eugene to take on Northwest Christian University on Saturday before hosting rival Southern Oregon University on Tuesday, February 11 at 5:30 pm at Danny Miles Court.
