#12 Owls Fly Past Warriors

SALEM, Ore. – Mitchell Fink's 31 points led No. 12-ranked Oregon Tech (19-5,  9-5 CCC) to a 84-67 victory over the Corban University (10-15, 4-11 CCC) men's basketball team on Friday night at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.

"I was really impressed with the way we defended the final 30 minutes," said OIT head coach Justin Parnell. "We were physical and tough and our bigs did a great job of contesting shots at the rim. Mitch and Matt put on quite the show offensively and really let things come to them. Harrison Steiger also made it really tough on Hodges to get good looks."

Tech's Matt van Tassell (Pictured) registered a new career high with 23 points on the night, sinking all six of his shots from beyond the arc, while Harrison Steiger dropped 15 points on the Warriors.

Fink is just 11 points away from becoming only the third player and second men's player to hit 2,000 career points at Oregon Tech (2,109 career points by Levell Hesia 2003-07), 2,063 career points by Carmen Arroquero OIT Women 1982-86

Corban was led by Tyler Wadleigh with 21 points the only Warrior to score in double digits on the night.

The Owls will next travel to Eugene on Saturday to take on Northwest Christian University on Saturday before hosting rival and No. 8 Southern Oregon University on Tuesday, February 11 at 7:30 pm at Danny Miles Court.
