Fink Hits 2K, Owls Fall to Beacons

EUGENE, Ore. – Northwest Christian outscored No.12 Oregon Tech 47-36 in the second half on the way to an 87-82 win. Tech's Mitchell Fink scored 19 points lifting him into the 2,000 point club (2008) joining only Levell Hesia (2,109) and Lady Owl Carmen Arroquero (2063) on the career list.

"We didn't have our best defensive effort tonight and let them get into rhythm with their dribble drive which led to a lot of uncontested 3's," said Justin Parnell. "We are still proud of the effort these guys continue to give us and have no doubt they will be ready to go on Tuesday night.

Tech took a 46-40 lead into the halftime break shooting 50% (18-36) from the field.

The Beacons came out on fire in the second half converting 9-of-14 from distance giving them a 15-5 advantage in three point field goals made in the game, that advantage, was just too big for the Owls to overcome.

Oregon Tech was led in scoring by Matt Van Tassell who had 25 points to best his career high of 23 from Tech's win on Friday night.

Garret Albrecht added a double-double with 10-rebounds and 19-points in the loss.

The Owls will conclude the season with their next five games all at home starting against rival and No.8 ranked Southern Oregon University on Tuesday night, February 11th
At 7:30 pm at Danny Miles Court.
