RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Oregon Tech (3-9) split a doubleheader with La Sierra University (1-12) on Friday afternoon at Golden Eagles Field. The Owls struggled to overcome a four-run deficit in the first game and fell 9-7, but hit two homers in the second game that sent them to a 5-2 victory.

La Sierra started with a double that earned them two runs before Tech struck back with a big third inning, scoring five to go up 5-2.
The Eagles retaliated in the bottom of the third, tying the score at five before scoring two in the fifth to gain the lead. A double in the seventh scored two more and gave them a four-run advantage.
The Hustlin' Owls added two runs in the ninth to drop the deficit to two, but the Eagle's struck out the last two Owl hitters to kill the rally.

Micah Jio, and
Emmett Covello each added two hits for the Owls, with Jio batting in two runs and Covello batting in three.

The Golden Eagles once again opened up strong, with two runs in the third – including a homer from Abel Plascenia – giving them the lead. However,
Josiah Peterson turned the tide in the 4
th with a huge three run homer of his own for Oregon Tech.
Covello tied things up in the sixth with a second home run for the Owls, batting in two to reach the final total score of five.
Peterson and Covello each added two hits in the game and Tech pitcher
Trask Telesmanich struck out 12 in the victory.
The Hustlin' Owls will travel to Compton, California tomorrow to challenge Marymount California University in a doubleheader, with games taking place at 11:00am and 2:00pm on Saturday and 10:00am and 1:00pm on Sunday.
