Owls Survive Yotes, Advance in CCC Tournament

ASHLAND, Ore. -  McKenna Armantrout drove in the game winning run in the bottom of the seventh scoring Jacey Conklin with the walk-off run as No.10 Oregon Tech (39-13) downed College of Idaho (36-14) 3-2 in game four of the 2019 Cascade Collegiate Conference Softball Tournament presented by U.S. Bank at University Field.

The Owls advanced to play top-seeded Southern Oregon in a matchup of the tourney's only remaining unbeaten teams at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Yotes will play an elimination game against Carroll (Mont.) at 11:30 a.m.

"That was a great playoff game against a very good College of Idaho team," said Head Coach Greg Stewart. "Abramson pitched well and we got two big two out hits by Jacey Conklin and Cierra Barkis with Armantrout coming up with a clutch triple. I am really proud of how these ladies battle to the finish."

Marissa Maddox's two-home run game put third-seeded College of Idaho in position to upset second-seeded Oregon Tech, but her dropped fly ball in right field with two outs in the seventh allowed the Owls to rally for the win.

Maddox gave the Yotes a 1-0 in the top of the second with her first homer.

Conklin delivered an RBI single in the bottom the inning to tie the game.

Maddox was at it again in the sixth to give the Yotes a 2-1 lead.

Cierra Barkis hit an RBI single to center in the bottom of the sixth scoring Armantrout to tie the game at 2-2.

OIT's Sarah Abramson (pictured) got the win to improve to 21-4, striking out nine in a seven-hit complete game.

Armantrout and Kiahna Brown led the Owls with two-hits each.

Taylor Eakle joined Maddox with two-hits to lead the Yotes.
