LA GRANDE Ore. – No. 10 Oregon Tech (38-12, 23-4 CCC) downed Eastern Oregon (12-32, 7-20 CCC) 6-1 in game one Saturday sweeping the three game conference portion of the series. EOU won game two on Saturday a non-conference game 7-6 at Peggy Anderson Field.
"Overall, we had a successful weekend winning 3 out of 4 on the road," said Head Coach
Greg Stewart. "I am very proud of how these ladies compete and we are looking forward to the upcoming playoff run starting in Ashland on Friday."
Game 1 Oregon Tech 6 Eastern Oregon 1
Sarah Abramson struck out 11 Mountaineers and won for the third time in two days in the circle as she pitched a complete game allowing just one run on 9-hits to improve to 20-4 on the year.
Tech took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third on a sacrifice fly off the bat of
McKenna Armantrout. OIT then went up 2-0 as
Jacey Conklin scored on a wild pitch in the 5
th.
The Owls then took a 5-0 lead with three-runs in the sixth on RBI singles by Armantrout,
Shelby Hotchkiss, and Conklin.
Eastern broke through on the scoreboard with a run in the sixth to cut the OIT lead to 5-1.
Cierra Barkis hit a solo home run in the 7
th as the Owls won 6-1.

Game 2 – Non-conference Eastern Oregon 7 Oregon Tech 6
Tech jumped out early, scoring four runs on three-hits in the top of the first. EOU answered with two-runs on two-hits in the bottom of the frame to make it a 4-2 game. Then added one run in the second inning trimming the Owl lead to 4-3.
Tech made it 5-3 on a
Baylee Wyscaver RBI single in the third. Eastern tied the game at 5-5 with two-runs in the fifth.
An RBI single by Conklin gave the Owls a 6-5 lead in the top of the seventh but the Mountaineers would win the game in walk-off with two-runs on four-hits capped off by the game winning single by Hannah Rothwell as EOU salvaged the final game of the series.
