EUGENE, Ore. – Freshman
John Sarna had two goals and assisted on a third to send Oregon Tech to a 3-1 win over Northwest Christian in Cascade Conference play on Friday afternoon.
Sarna kicked off the game with a goal in the 14th minute, but the Beacon's (2-8-0, 2-7-0 CCC) Andrew Mitchell scored the equalizer just four minutes later. Sarna took back the Owl's (8-3-2, 5-3-0 CCC) lead with a second goal, and it held to the end of the period.
Tech's
Jake Mitchell scored the sole goal in the second, wrapping up the game.
Seniors
Cade Roske and
Daniel Blessinger each made 3 shots for the Hustlin' Owls, with Blessinger also adding two assists. Sarna shot 4-of-4 on target and junior
Keanu Srivongsana and senior
Joey Driessen each notched two shots.
The Owls made a total of 18 shot, of which 10 were on target.
Northwest, on the other hand, shot 3-of-13 on target, with Jovany Sanchez leading the way with three shots. Mitchell and Oswaldo Ramirez each shot 1-of-2 on target.
Julian Hernandez made seven saves for the Beacons in the game.
The Hustlin' Owls will continue north to take on Corban University in Salem tomorrow at 12:30pm before returning home to take on Multnomah University and Warner Pacific University, with games taking place on the 25
th and 26
th, respectively. Both games will be played at the OIT Soccer Field at 2:30pm.
