SALEM, Ore. – No. 21-ranked Corban University rode past Oregon Tech on Saturday afternoon at the CFC Soccer Complex on a single goal kicked in by Miguel Rodriguez in the 5
th minute, winning 1-0.
"The lads stayed organized and motivated, but giving up a set piece goal that early is a tough challenge to overcome," said Head Coach
Brandon Porter. "I'm proud of the weekend performances for them, and we look forward to returning home and defending our home field."
Camilo Avedano and Chadwayne Johnson provided a double assist in Rodriguez's goal, one of his three total shots in the game. Avedano and four other Warriors (11-0-2, 9-0-1 CCC) added two and Nate Sherwood shot 2-of-2 on target.
Sophomore
Anthony Santillan added three shots for the Owls (8-3-2, 5-3-0 CCC), who ended the game with only 7 shots to Corban's 15.
Tech goalkeeper
Mitchell Jillson made four saves in the game.
The Hustlin' Owls will return to Klamath Falls next weekend to take on Multnomah University on Friday and Warner Pacific on Saturday, with both games taking place at the OIT Soccer Field at 2:30pm.
