KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – No. 10 Southern Oregon University (18-3, 9-2 CCC) downed Oregon Tech (11-10. 4-7 CCC) 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-19) on Friday night at Danny Miles Court. For SOU it was their 34
th straight win over the Lady Owls.
SOU took leads of 6-1, 14-7, and 18-10 in the first set on the way to the 25-16 win hitting at a .344 clip.
The second set looked very similar to the first with the No.10 ranked Raiders taking leads of 4-0, 10-5, and 18-10 before winning the set 25-19 with a hit percentage of .220.
The Owls showed some life in the third set taking their first lead of the night at 4-3, extended that to 9-6 before SOU went on a 6-3 run tying the set at 12. The Raiders didn't look back as they closed out the Owls on a 13-7 run to win 25-19.
SOU had 45 kills on the night led by Makayla Hoyt's 10.
Tech was held to a hitting percentage of just .060 led by
Nicole Reyes and her 7 of team total 26 kills.
Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon will next travel to Portland, Oregon with games at Multnomah and Warner Pacific next Friday and Saturday.
