Oregon Tech Baseball Splits with Holy Names

Oakland, Calif. – Oregon Tech (8-10) and NCAA DII Holy Names (1-4) split a pair of 3-2 ball games with HNU taking the first game and OIT snagging the second game at Pat Ball Field.

HNU scored 2-runs in the 7th inning and then held on for the 3-2 pitcher's duel win.
 
Tech's Doug Molzahn pitched well but picked up his first loss of the year on hill giving up 3-run and 8-hits with 5-strikouts.
 
Tristan Shea led the OIT offense in game 1 with 2 of the Owls 8-hits.
 
Colton Combs led HNU with 2-hits and 2-RBI in the win.
 
Game 2, Oregon Tech 3 Holy Names 2
 
Owl pitching combined for 11-stikouts to hold HNU to 2-runs. Tech's Chase Wago improved to 3-1 on the year going 7-innings giving up just 6-hits with 8-strikouts while Trask Telesmanich pitched the final 2-innings of shutout relief with 3-strikouts allowing only one hit.
 
The Owls took the lead early against HNU scoring a run in the first on an Austin Zavala RBI double.
 
OIT scored two unearned run in the 4th to go up 3-0 highlighted by a Kai Fong RBI single delivering the eventual game winner.
 
HNU scored twice in the 6th but could not tie the game as the Owls held on for the 3-2 win.
 
Josh Kallstrom delivered three of the Owls 6-hots to lead the offense.
 
The two teams will conclude the three game series with one game Sunday at 12:00 pm in Oakland.
