REDDING, Calif. – Oregon Tech (5-1) dropped its first game of the year 4-3 then bounced back to win game two, 5-1 to earn the split with Menlo College (8-5) Friday afternoon at the Field of Dreams.
Game 1, Menlo 4 Oregon Tech 3
Menlo scored three unanswered runs in the final two innings to win game one 4-3 erasing an early OIT 3-1 lead.
Kiahan Brown led the OIT attack with three of the Owls eight hits.
Sarah Abramson was tabbed with loss as she gave up 3-hits and the winning run in the final two-innings in relief of starter
Loryn Williams.
Game 2, Oregon Tech 5 Menlo 1
Tech scored three-runs in the fourth to extend a 1-0 lead then held on to win 5-1.
Rachael Delamare and
Ali Graham had two-hits each to lead Owls offense as OIT held an 8-5 edge in hits for the game.
Tech starter
Kelly Scott continued pitching well going 5-innigs allowing just 3-hits with 5-stirouts as she improved to 3-0 in the circle for the Owls.
OIT will travel to Rocklin, California for a double-header with William Jessup University on Saturday afternoon.
