Lady Owls Start Season 4-0 with Sunday Sweep

REDDING, Calif. – The Oregon Tech Softball team looked dominant on Sunday disposing of No. 18 Simpson University 15-5, and NCAA DII Notre Dame de Namur 9-1 as the Owls improved to 4-0 at the Simpson Field.
 
Head Coach Greg Stewart on his team this weekend, "Overall a great team performance this weekend. Solid pitching by the entire staff all weekend and the bats really heated up today to break open some close games in the early innings. We have a very deep team offensively and in the circle."
 
 
Game 1, Oregon Tech 9 Notre Dame de Namur 1 (5-innings)
 
OIT got great pitching from Sarah Abramson who picked up the win going four innings giving up only 3-hits and 1-run. Loryn Williams pitched the final inning to seal the shut out.
 
The Tech offense tallied 13-hits and 9-runs and was led by Rachael Delamare and Ali Graham with 3-hits each. Shayna Ige, and Sahalie Doe added two-hits each in the win.
 
Game 2, Oregon Tech 15 No. 18 Simpson University 5 (6-innings)
 
The Tech bats stayed hot rattling off 19-hits and 15-runs on the No. 18 team in the NAIA.
 
Junior transfer Dre Sotelo had her best game as an Owl with 4-hits, 4-RBI, and 3-runs scored to lead the OIT offense. Rachael Delamare added 3-hits including a homer with Kiahna Brown, Tara Moates, Ali Graham, and McKenna Armantrout all added 2-hits each in the win.
 
Kelly Scott picked up the win in the circle to improve to 2-0 on the season for OIT.
 
The Owls will next travel back to Redding, California next Friday and Saturday for double headers against Menlo College and William Jessup respectively.
