ROCKLIN, Calif. – Oregon Tech (2-1) out-scored Bethesda 25-8 (0-5) in the second quarter and cruised to a 78-39 win in game 6 of the Bill Holtz Warrior Classic Saturday afternoon.
Head Coach
Scott Meredith said, "I'm proud of the way the girls bounced back today after a tough one last night. A much better defensive effort today. Happy to hold Bethesda to single digit scoring in 2 quarters. We missed a lot of layup-type shots, but the fact that we got good looks in each quarter was a positive. I'm very happy for Mikaela and Courtney who each had double-doubles. We will get back, watch film and see where we can improve before next week's road trip."
Four players scored in double-figures for the Owls led by Freshman
Courtney Clemmer's 20,
Megan Morris and
Mikaela Shumaker added 11 points each with
Nohea Waiwaiole chipping in 10. Shumaker and Clemmer added 13 and 12 rebounds respectively to complete their double-doubles.
Tech held a huge 61-35 advantage in rebounds for the game.
The Owls will travel to California next weekend with games against Santa Cruz on Friday, UC Merced on Saturday, and Pacific Union next Sunday. All the games will be broadcast on 104.3 and 960 Sports with listen live links at
