Lady Owls Defeated by William Jessup University

ROCKLIN, Calif. – Oregon Tech's Lady Owls sustained their first loss of the season dropping to 1-1 on the year at the hands of William Jessup University by a score 63-72 Friday night in the third game of the Bill Holtz Warrior Classic.

"We played well enough to lead by 4 at the half," said Head Coach Scott Meredith. "It's a process with such a young team. We just needed same defensive execution in second-half that we had in first. Hard to stay in games against good teams when shooting 26%. We look for consistent play at both ends tomorrow."

Tech played a good game, starting with the lead and managing to end the first half with a four-point advantage. However, the Warriors fought back in the second half, making 44.4% of their shots compared to the Owl's 24.3% average.

The Warrior's Anisah Smith led the game with 17 points, followed closely by Sophomore Abby Kreiser of the Owls, who scored 16. Tech's Nohea Waiwaiole scored 10 points and had 10 rebounds for a double-double.

The Lady Owls led in rebounds 53-42.

Tech will play Bethesda College on Saturday at 11 am at William Jessup University in Rocklin, California.
