Entering his 13th season as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Oregon Tech, Scott Meredith has transformed the Lady Owls into a nationally recognized and respected program with an overall record of 240-127 and a winning percentage of 65.3%, placing him among the Top 20 in the nation in the NAIA’s former DII level . 

Meredith is beginning his 42th season coaching basketball, 31 of those coaching women's basketball specifically. Along with 36 seasons as a head coach at multiple levels, Meredith also spent six seasons in California as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Santa Clara University, Humboldt State University, Santa Rosa Junior College and College of the Redwoods before arriving in Klamath Falls to lead the Lady Owls.

Under Meredith’s guidance, the Lady Owls have won 2 Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament Championships and have made 5 trips to the NAIA National Tournament, advancing to the Sweet 16 twice. In 2016, the #24 ranked and 7th seeded Lady Owls came back from a 16-point deficit to upset #8 ranked and #2 seeded Jamestown University of North Dakota by a score of 71-64. In 2018-19, the #25 ranked and 7th seeded Tech women led wire to wire in defeating former back to back National Champion Marian University of Indiana by a final of 63-50.

Relying on years of experience and having an eye for ability and talent, Meredith has proven himself an effective recruiter and has brought numerous gifted student/athletes to Oregon Tech.

A perennial NAIA Scholar-Team, the 2015-16 Lady Owls took it to the next level by having the highest grade point average for any collegiate women’s basketball team in the nation at
3.78.

Meredith compiled an overall record of 152-47 (76%) at Arcata and Fortuna High Schools in Northern California. His teams dominated Humboldt-Del Norte League play with an overall league record of 48-8 (86%), including 4 league championships and 7 consecutive berths in the North Coast Section playoffs. Meredith’s 1996-97 Arcata Tigers won 28 consecutive games, finished the season 28-1 had a mid-season ranking of #6 in California for all Division 3 schools. Many of Meredith’s former players moved on to play at the college level at schools such as Cornell, Wichita State, Sacramento State and New Mexico State.

Meredith, who has won 70% of his games as a head coach, is originally from northern California where he was a 4-sport (football, basketball, baseball & track) letter winner at Arcata High School. He graduated from Humboldt State University in 1987 with a B.A. in Liberal Studies/Education while playing football and baseball for the Lumberjacks. He also earned an M.S. in Health, Physical Education and Recreation with an emphasis in Sport Psychology from St. Mary’s College of California. He holds teaching credentials in Physical Education, Multiple Subjects Elementary Education and Social Science.

Meredith and his wife Priscilla were married in Tokyo, Japan where he taught English as a Second Language and played fast pitch softball for the Motobuto Chu Softball Club. They have two children and a granddaughter.
