Bill is entering his 25th year as an assistant and associate head softball coach at OIT. Bill has been privileged to coach with three head coaches during his time at OIT, and has been associated with over 860 wins.
Bill played baseball at OIT and was an All-District and All-Conference catcher and third baseman. He served as the men’s assistant baseball coach for three years after his playing days. He also played semi-pro baseball and men’s fast pitch softball for a number of years. Bill has been playing or coaching for 60 years. He has coached and won state titles in ASA and Little League softball, as well as coaching at the high school level. All three of his daughters (Addie, Grace and Bess) played softball at OIT and graduated college.
Bill graduated from OIT with bachelor degrees in Environmental and Civil Engineering. He worked for the private sector and State of Alaska in the Environmental Engineering field. He has been proudly married to his wife Lonna for 43 years, and has seven grandchildren (Savannah, Noah, Willa, Malin, Wade, Luke and Nolan).
