Biography

2016 Season: Luis was a redshirt senior and did not compete in any contests. 

2015 Season: In his junior season, Luis played in 13 games picking up 3 starts and tallying 2 goals. 

2014 Season: In his sophomore season, Valdez established himself more regularly in the starting lineup, featuring in 17 games, and starting 10 of them. More minutes on the pitch meant more opportunities for Valdez, as he tallied 3 goals and 1 assist on the season, including the game winner in the last match of the season against CCC opponent Northwest Christian. Luis earned CCC player of the Week honors.

2013 Season: As a freshman, Valdez played in 15 games for the Owls, while earning 4 starts on the season. He scored his first collegiate goal in a decisive 3-1 win at home over conference opponent The Evergreen State College.

Club Team: Basin United SC

Notable Info: Luis comes to Oregon Tech from Klamath Falls, OR where he played for Mazama High School and Basin United Soccer Club. As an attacking winger, Valdez led his team in scoring as a senior captain and earned All-League and All-State honors.

Coach Munhall comments: “Luis has good one-on-one ability in the attack. He has also proven that he can be dangerous in front of the goal.”

Luis is the son of Lulu and Roman Valdez, and plans to major in mechanical engineering at Oregon Tech.
