Cash Cota posted a first half brace, as Oregon Tech recorded their highest scoring total in a non-league match since 2010, rolling past Pacific Union, 7-1.
The Hustlin' Owls (2-0-4) remain unbeaten on the season, equaling their highest scoring total in a preseason match-up, as the 2010 club defeated Menlo, 7-0.
Tech ended the day with a commanding 19-10 shot advantage, with keeper
Noah Harwood working 53 minutes of shutout soccer before being lifted from the match.
Yahir Ramos staked the Owls to a quick 1-0 second-minute lead, as he redirected a failed clearance by the Pioneers (0-6) into the right corner of the net.
Cota followed with consecutive goals before the break, both off tremendous crosses. In the 30th-minute,
Merrick Tambio lofted a ball from the right side to the left corner of the box, where the junior hammered home the 15-yard dart. Six minutes later,
Kevin Alvarenga made a run down the right side and hit a low ball through traffic across the 18, with Cota driving home a back-post chance.

Layne Worrell caught a
Dalton Rideout pass at the top of the 18, turning and ripping a shot into the left corner of the net. Rideout added to the lead, converting a penalty kick, while in the waning moments,
Andrew George headed home a cross in the middle of the box from
Elijah Rodriguez.
OIT continues their road swing next week, traveling to Washington to open league play, meeting Evergreen State on Friday and Northwest on Saturday.
